Meet Ray Paprota, the first and only paraplegic driver to compete in a NASCAR Touring Series.

Paralyzed in a motor vehicle accident at age 21, Ray competed with the national wheelchair basketball team before developing his abilities on the racetrack.

He recently appeared in an episode of the popular Discovery Channel TV show "Monster Garage" as a van conversion and fabrication specialist.

On the professional racing circuit, Paprota developed new hand-control technology that passed the intense scrutiny of the racing authority. Paprota will serve as a technical consultant for the Fast Track division, testing and recommending specifications for vehicles and home modification products.
