Meet Ray Paprota- the first and only paraplegic driver to compete in a NASCAR Touring Series.
Ray serves as Fast Track's Senior Mobility Consultant. His nearly thirty years in a wheelchair provides a perspective that is unmatched and allows him to relate with both the injured, family members, nurse case managers and rehabilitation experts alike.
Paralyzed in a motor vehicle accident at the age of 21, Ray competed internationally in wheelchair sports, winning a wheelchair basketball National Championship in 2003 before dedicating himself fulltime to developing new hand control technology that passed the intense demands of competitive motorsports.
A popular public speaker and mobility design, conversion and fabrication specialist, his credits include appearing on The Discovery Channel's "Monster Garage" and "RPM Tonight" as well as driving race cars on the nations short tracks and famed super speedways.
No longer a professional race car driver, Ray remains active in motor sports wearing several different hats for several teams. He finds motor sports to be a great way to innovate the technology used for the physically challenged. Ray has a down to earth quality that enables him to interact with clients, patients and workers' compensation experts alike, and we invite you to follow along with his blogs and other social media forums.
